New joint co-ordinator appointed to TG097

The recent CIB Board meeting held at Massey University in Auckland, saw the ratification of a number of applications to become co-ordinator of task groups and working commissions.

CIB is pleased to welcome Zahra Jandaghian as joint co-ordinator of TG097 Nature-based solution for climate resilient buildings and communities. Zahra will work alongside current co-ordinator Hua Ge. On her appointment Zahra commented

Zahra Jandaghian

Biography

Zahra Jandaghian is a Research Officer at Construction Research Center – National Research Council Canada and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) Lead under Climate Resilient Built Environment (CRBE) initiative. She holds a doctorate in Building Engineering from Concordia University, and is an adjunct professor at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Her current research focuses on assessing the effects of NBS on mitigating the effects of urban heat islands, overheating risks, and urban flooding in Canadian cities. To create impact of these research, she engages with Health Canada, Infrastructure Canada (INFC), Standard Council Canada (SCC), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Cities and municipalities, building practitioners and stakeholders, manufactures, and associations.
