Membership Categories
CIB offers 3 types of Memberships: Full Membership, Associate Membership and Individual Membership.
- Individual Membership: member may join 2 Commissions to participate in, receive news updates on conferences, meetings, webinars. Additional Commission memberships may be added at a fee of 100 Euro each.
- Associate Members: members may join a group maximum of 18 Commissions per year, participation in CIB World Building Congress 2025 – discounts offered to members, receive monthly newsletters, subscription discounts to our partner journals, participation in CIB conferences, symposia, seminar and online webinars. Additional Commission memberships may be added at a fee of 100 Euro each.
- Full Members: members may join a group maximum of 36 Commissions per year, participation in CIB World Building Congress 2025 – discounts offered members, advertisement during event, subscription discounts to partner journals, preference of member participation in CIB conferences, symposia’s, seminars and online webinars. Prime advertisement on the CIB Website, newsletters, marketing collateral, social media channels see more here. Additional Commission memberships may be added at a fee of 100 Euro each.
Membership Pricing
Members are invoiced for the Membership Fee appropriate to their chosen Membership Category plus the registered number of Commission Memberships for that year. Annual fees are proposed by the CIB Board and approved by the CIB General Assembly each year.

The maximum number of Commission participation for a Full Members is 36, Associate Members 18, Individual Members 2. Additional Commission memberships may be added at a fee of 100 Euro each.
Discounts
A reduction is offered of 50% to all fees for Members in countries with a GNIpc less than USD 1035 and a reduction of 25% to all fees for Members in countries with a GNIpc between USD 1036-4045, as defined by the World Bank (see here).
New memberships joining between July 1 – Sept 30 in any year will receive a 50% discount with expiry on Dec 31 the same year, after which the membership is renewable for the next year, ie their first payment will cover a period of 3-6 months. New memberships joining between Oct 1 – Dec 31 will not receive a discount but will expire Dec 31 the following year, ie their first payment will cover a period of 12-15 months.
Payments
Membership fees are usually invoiced in November ahead of the applicable calendar year, and expire on December 31st at the end of the year, and are automatically renewed each calendar year, unless a cancellation notice is provided three months in advance, ie by October 1st. Payments can be made via Bank transfers (the banking information is noted on the invoice) or by credit card via our online payment page using PayPal.
