Don Ward took up the role of Chief Executive of CIB in March 2020. Unfortunately this coincided almost exactly with the Covid pandemic, so he has been unable to relocate to our head office in Ottawa. He is a British citizen and currently lives just north of London, England.
He is a highly experienced and globally-recognised CEO of not-for-profit organisations in the construction and built environment sector. He is an international expert in industry change, innovation, supply chain integration, collaborative working, benchmarking and sustainability, with 35 years’ experience of studying, implementing and learning from best practice and change programmes in the housing, construction and infrastructure sectors in the UK and overseas.
Don was an advisor to the UK government’s Cabinet Office, secretary to the British Standards Institution’s committee on construction procurement, and a Simon Industrial Fellow at Manchester Business School. He has undertaken speaking engagements and advisory roles in over 30 countries including Australasia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Scandinavia, USA and across the Middle East region.
