Every third year, at the conclusion of the CIB Triennium, CIB holds its Triennial World Building Congress. The primary aim is to provide a platform for all building and construction experts in the world, both in and outside the CIB community, to come together and exchange their expertise.
In 2025 Purdue University will host the 23rd World Building Congress #WBC2025 at its campus in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, from 19-23 May 2025. The CIB President Makarand (Mark) Hastak and his conference co-chair Z. Torbica look forward to welcoming all CIB members and other delegates. In 2022 RMIT University’s School of Property, Construction and Project Management in Melbourne hosted the 22nd World Building Congress #WBC2022 from June 27th-30th, titled Building our Future: Informing practice to enhance the lives of current and future generations. The Proceedings of #WBC2022 are available here and a report of this excellent event is available to download below. Headlines included 647 delegates from 39 countries with 429 research papers presented across 126 programme sessions in 23 categories and 15 venues.
WBC2022-Post-Event-ReportIn 2019 we were pleased to host the World Building Congress with Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Department of Building and Real Estate. Sub-themes were: Smart Buildings & Infrastructure, Smart Transportation & Mobility, Smart Planning, Design & Construction, Smart Utilities & Facilities Management, Smart Environment, Smart Governance, Policy & Economy, Smart People & Living and Smart Service. There were over 450 participants from 30 countries, 400 Papers and 4,000 proceedings pages. The proceedings can be downloaded here.
