The Massey University CIB Student Chapter is excited to announce two upcoming research seminars on ChatGPT-4 and power analysis, tailored specifically for PhD students. These sessions aim to enhance the knowledge and skills crucial to their academic journey.

Session 1: Fundamentals of Power Analysis – 14th June

In the first session, Associate Professor Lovreglio will delve into the fundamentals of power analysis, a vital statistical tool in research design. This session will equip students with the understanding necessary to determine the appropriate sample size for their studies, ensuring they can detect the effects of a given size with a certain degree of confidence.

Speaker: Associate Professor Ruggiero Lovreglio (Rino)

Assoc. Prof Rino is an expert in research methodologies and innovative teaching approaches. He is also a distinguished academic in the field of safety engineering, with a strong focus on enhancing safety training through innovative methods. At the forefront of his research is developing and evaluating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies designed to improve emergency preparedness and response. Dr. Lovreglio’s work spans research design and integrating advanced AI tools such as ChatGPT-4 to enhance research productivity and innovation. His research contributions include creating realistic simulation models that increase the fidelity of training scenarios and enable a deeper understanding of human behaviour in crisis situations.
