The Sustainable Built Environment Conference Series is organised by four international organisations as co-owners:
- International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB)
- International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE, iisbe.org)
- United Nations Environment Programme, unenvironment.org
- International Federation of Consulting Engineers, fidic.org.
The series is organized so that the financial and organizational responsibility for each SBE event is taken by one or more local research-based organizations, while the four owners organisations provide strategic direction, overall planning of the series, and organizational advice. The partners have also used their networks to help ensure a large multi-disciplinary audience for the events.
