The third Meet the Editor Series was delivered on 30 November with Professor Mohan Kumaraswamy, Editor-in-Chief of one of the three CIB recognised journals, the Journal of Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM). Mohan is Honorary Professor at University of Hong Kong and at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
Prof. Kumaraswamy highlighted insights and examples of authoring and reviewing journal papers. Mohan discussed previous special issues of BPEAM highlighting sustainability and long term vision of the construction industry. Reviewed how the papers get processed from initial editor screening to peer-review. Format and content were highlighted as important at the initial reviews stage. In addition, there is a plagiarism check. The Associate Editors review the paper to select adequate reviewers with proper background on the topic or methodology. Mohan reviewed the process and expectations for both regular papers and special issues. Thirty CIB member attended the event.
