Chelydra Percy is the Chief Executive of BRANZ, New Zealand and holds the position of Vice President of CIB.
We talked to Chelydra in March 2021 and discussed her early career and how she became CEO, some of the most important research topics in BRANZ’s work programme including quality, fire safety, impact of climate change, and ‘Net Zero’. We also covered the impact of the global pandemic on the future research agenda. As a non-scientist leading a large group of scientists, Chelydra is an excellent ambassador and advocate for science and engineering, and her final message for policy-makers was to “do what is right, not easy, using evidence-based science”.
