CIB in Conversation – Jacqueline Cramer WBC 2022 Keynote Speaker

Jacqueline Cramer is a Professor at Utrecht University and has a portfolio of non-executive and other positions including Chair of Holland Circular Hotspot’s Supervisory board and former Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment in the Dutch Government. She describes herself as a ‘transition broker’, and she will be a fascinating keynote speaker at the World Building Congress 2022 on the subject of “How to govern the transition to a sustainable building sector”. In our conversation we discussed how a ‘transition broker’ enables change from fossil fuels and from a linear to a circular economy. Collaboration, alignment of interests to common goals, holistic or ‘systemic’ change and ‘network governance’ not only regular public governance all featured. Jacqueline also had some advice for any researchers seeking to influence Politicians, namely to provide sharp brief analyses identifying the political drivers, risks and level of uncertainty in the language of politicians.
