Professor Dongping Fang welcomed the CIB Board to Tsinghua University in Beijing for its meeting in June 2024.
Spread over a week from June 24th-28th, the Board’s business included:
- Review of the annual accounts for 2023 and agreement to recommend their approval to the General Assembly on June 25th
- Approval of reports from its standing committees, namely Programme, Future Leaders, Membership & Communications, Administration
- Commendation of progress by Purdue University in planning for the CIB World Building Congress 2025 to be held at Purdue University in May 2025, for which registration is now open.
The annual meeting of the CIB General Assembly was also held as an online meeting during the week, a separate report is available here.
CIB was also able to launch its 70th anniversary commemorative brochure, available in English and Chinese, at an event hosted by Tsinghua University with 14 other Chinese universities and industry organisations.
The final face-to-face CIB Board meeting in the current triennium up to 2025 will take place in Brussels in October, hosted by Buildwise.

Congratulations to Professor Fang for this initiative with CIB. I am glad he is a member of the Editorial Board for the Intelligent Buildings Journal published by Taylor and Francis. We look forward to his active participation in developing the Journal which is closely related in content to the CIB Commission W098 on Intelligent and Responsive Buildings.
