Through our Early Career Research network we were delighted to meet Rana Khallaf PhD, Assistant Professor currently working in Structural Engineering and Construction Management at the Future University in Egypt. Last year Rana founded AIA, which is a global network of collaborative professionals interested in academia, and we are pleased to support this network.
AIA was launched in July 2020 during the peak of the pandemic and currently has over 1000 members across the globe. These members include deans, heads of schools, professors, ex-academics, and industry professionals working in diverse, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary areas. AIA provides a community to connect, support, and inspire its members. They promote collaborations amongst members and aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry through research. AIA hosts regular events, including virtual networking events for our members and webinars with experienced professionals, they have also recently launched a mentorship program for early career professionals.
