CIB has joined up with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries (FOCIC) to hold a webinar on Advancing Innovation and Sustainability in the Construction Industry. The event will be moderated by Dr Hisham Mirghani, Senior Procurement Specialist in IsDB, and speakers include CIB Board member Dr Taha Elhag of Heriot Watt University Dubai, CIB Chief Executive Mr Don Ward, Mr Aamir Mir, IsDB Project Procurement & Financial Management Division Manager, and Eng Zakariyya Al-Abdulgader, FOCIC President.
Key issues to be discussed during the webinar include:
- Technological Innovation in Construction: Cutting-edge technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), robotics, and 3D printing, and their applications in streamlining construction processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency.
- Green Building Practices: Sustainable construction materials, energy-efficient designs, and green building certifications, and how these practices can contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of construction projects and achieving energy efficiency goals.
- Circular Economy in Construction: The concept of a circular economy within the construction industry, emphasizing the reuse, recycling, and repurposing of materials, and strategies to minimize construction waste and promote a more sustainable approach to resource management.
