The 23rd World Building Congress #WBC2025 will be hosted by Purdue University at its campus in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA, from 19-23 May 2025. The Congress website is here: https://wbc2025.cibworld.org/.
In March the latest planning milestone passed with the approval of 629 abstracts. The authors now have until November 18th to submit their full papers for double-blind review.
Some features of the abstracts include:
- The abstracts’ lead authors come from 41 different countries across 6 continents, and they feature specific context or case studies from over 40 different countries
- All relate to one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and overall 15 of the 17 SDGs are explicitly addressed, the main ones being:
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – 227
- Sustainable Cities and Communities – 168
- Good Health and Well-being – 67
- Climate Action – 41
- Responsible Consumption and Production – 33.
- The leading CIB Commissions indicated by authors as the main scope of their papers were as follows:

- W078 Information Technology for Construction – 50
