Dongping is a leading researcher in construction safety and urban resilience.
He has developed an LCB approach for enhancing safety leadership, safety culture and behavioral safety in construction, and the approach has been implemented in many megaprojects and leading enterprises in China and overseas. Meanwhile, Dongping has also developed a trio-space system-of-systems framework and led a research team working on urban resilience focusing on safeguarding the construction and operation of urban infrastructure systems in megacities.
Dongping has been the leader of the CIB priority theme Resilient Urbanization since 2013.
