The 130th meeting of the CIB Board is to be hosted by CIB Full member Massey University from November 20th-24th 2023, with Professor Monty Sutrisna welcoming Board members to Auckland, New Zealand. The business will be conducted in hybrid format with online participation for Board members unable to attend in person. Main business to be discussed includes:
- Progress with the Board’s strategic priorities
- Discussion of the governance framework for Working Commissions and Task Groups
- Approval of new Commission Coordinators
- Latest CIB awards and funding Visiting Scholar Award and Vistas funding
- CIB webinar programme for Early Career Researchers in 2024
- Proposal for CIB Industry reports
- Approval of the MOU with Purdue University to host the CIB World Building Congress 2025, for which planning is well underway with three meetings of the Scientific Committee already held
- Approval of the budget for 2024.
Other activities during the week include:
- Meetings with local faculty and the vibrant CIB Student Chapter of Massey University
- Presentation event and judging of the annual CIB Dissertation Award
- Dinner with New Zealand industry leaders, policy makers and other local members
- Campus tour
- Site visit to City Rail Link project.
