This Committee met on November 24th 2020 chaired by Albert Chan, and progressed three items which were approved at the October meeting of the CIB Board.
The CIB Sebestyén Future Leaders Award
This was launched in 2002 and has an esteemed list of winners, several of whom have gone on to establish themselves as leading researchers in their field. More information is available here, watch out for the Call for Entries in December 2020.
The CIB Best Dissertation Award/s
This is a new award to be launched in 2021 for the best Doctoral thesis from within the CIB Student Chapter network. More details and the Call for Entries will be available in the first half of 2021. The Award/s consist of a Certificate/s and a cash fund of 2500 Euros.
Funding competition for Student Chapters
The CIB Board is keen to encourage additional activity by Student Chapters and is able to provide a level of funding to support this. The Call for Proposals will be issued by January 2021 with a view to approval of funding by March 2021, the CIB is looking for evidence of “additionality” and/or leverage of other sources of funding, and will favour bids which feature collaboration between different Chapters or with universities who currently do not have a Chapter but which could be encouraged to launch one as a result of the funded activity.
