New Commission – CIB W124 Near-Zero and Circular Built Environments

We are excited to announce the establishment of the new CIB Working Commission W124 – Near-Zero and Circular Built Environments, building on the success of Task Group TG124 – Net Zero Carbon Building Design and Construction.

Expanding on TG124’s strong foundation, W124 broadens its focus from net zero carbon building design to the wider vision of near-zero and circular built environments. The Commission extends its scope beyond individual buildings to encompass the broader built environment, promoting a more comprehensive, systems based approach to sustainability.

The Working Commission brings together researchers and industry professionals to share international best practices and develop strategic solutions that advance the delivery of near zero and circular built environments. Through these efforts, CIB W124 aims to accelerate the global transition toward a sustainable, resource efficient, and low carbon built environment.

If you are interested in joining Working Commission W124, please contact the Commission Coordinators Niluka Domingo, Suzanne Wilkinson and Sepani Senaratne for more information.
