Prof. Anil Kashyap has been appointed as the new CIB Treasurer.
Dr, Anil Kashyap is Professor Emeritus with NICMAR after serving his full terms as Founding Chancellor of NICMAR University Pune. He was appointed DG of NICMAR in July 2021 and the first President and Chancellor of NICMAR University Pune in June 2022. Under his leadership NICMAR transformed into two degree awarding Universities in Pune and Hyderabad, one autonomous institute in Delhi, and launched NICMAR Online.

In his academic leadership domain, Dr Kashyap is advising institutions in organisation development. He is Chairman Nominee of Internal Monitoring cum Advisory Committee (IMAC) for the Centre of Excellence in Urban Planning and Design (CoEUD), at SPA Delhi, a Trustee of RASTA Trust, and on the Board of FESTRA Foundation working towards sustainable communities.
Dr. Kashyap previously held senior academic leadership roles in several large universities in the UK, before moving back to India in 2021. With over 30 years of experience in practice, academia and research, both in India and abroad, his expertise includes infrastructure development and finance, urban regeneration, and real estate research, and he has been a Chartered Member of RICS, a Chartered Member of Royal Town Planning Institute London, a Fellow of Higher Education Academy UK, and a Fellow of Institute of Town Planners, India.
The CIB Board confirmed Dr. Kashyap’s appointment at its meeting in October 2025, subject to ratification by the CIB General Assembly at its annual meeting in May 2026. Dr. Kashyap replaces Dr. Paul Chan, who we thank for his committed and valued work in the role over the last four years.
