The 5th President’s seminar series will be panel discussions with invited experts in their field discussing a given topic. The latest panel discussion is titled ‘Legal considerations for implementing SDGs in the built environment’ and will be held on Friday April 18th, 2025, 11:30 ES.T
Effective legal and contract frameworks are fundamental to delivering sustainability in the built environment. This panel, based on CIB’s ongoing research, will explore how legal frameworks (W113) can guide and support the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), how public-private partnerships (W122) can be structured to balance risks and rewards while advancing sustainability, and how procurement systems (W092) can be designed to prioritize long-term environmental and social outcomes.
Panelists will discuss practical legal tools, contractual models, and collaborative mechanisms that enable accountability, innovation, and sustainable project delivery. Join this session to understand how legal considerations shape pathways toward achieving SDG-aligned built environments.
