The 5th President’s seminar series will be panel discussions with invited experts in their field discussing a given topic. The latest panel discussion is titled ‘IT for Smart and Sustainable Built Environment’ and will be held on Friday 21st February at 11:30 EST.
As the built environment evolves, the diffusion and adoption of smart technologies are becoming essential for achieving sustainability. This panel, featuring pioneering research of CIB’s Working commissions and Task groups, will explore how smart technologies and IT innovations can enhance sustainability in the built environment (W116, W078), intelligent systems can improve building performance (W098), and innovations in construction processes can drive long-term adaptability and resilience adaptability (TG96).
Experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities in integrating these technologies, the role of digital transformation, and how industry-wide adoption can accelerate progress toward sustainability. Join us to explore the future of technology-driven innovation in the built environment and how it can lead to more efficient, resilient, and sustainable spaces.
Panel members will include:
- Dr. Mohammed Dulaimi, Leeds Beckett University, UK – TG96 – Accelerating innovation in construction
- Dr. Jeremy Gibberd, CSIR, South Africa – W116 – Smart and sustainable built environments
- Dr. Shen Wei, University College London, UK – W098 – Intelligent and responsive buildings
