The Role of Facilities Management for Achieving SDGs

The 5th President’s seminar series will be panel discussions with invited experts in their field discussing a given topic. The latest panel discussion is titled ‘The Role of Facilities Management for Achieving SDGs’ and will be held on Friday April 25th, 2025, 11:30 ES.T

Facilities management is essential for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by ensuring that built environments remain efficient, resilient, and sustainable over time. This panel, featuring CIB’s latest research, will explore how net zero carbon strategies in facilities management (TG124) can help resilience, how building pathology (W086) supports the identification and resolution of structural challenges that hinder sustainability, and how effective management and maintenance practices (W070) can optimize operations and extend the life of building assets.

Panelists will examine key strategies, including energy-efficient operations, data-driven diagnostics, and proactive maintenance, that contribute directly to SDG outcomes. Join us to discover the transformative potential of facilities management in advancing sustainability across the built environment.
