Panel discussion: Architectural design trends and SDGs

February 7 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

The fifth CIB President’s seminar series in collaboration with Mark Hastak and Purdue University will focus on panel discussions with a number of leading researchers and academics in their respective fields.

Architectural design is at the forefront of addressing global sustainability challenges and aligning with the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This panel highlights the pioneering research of CIB’s
Working Commissions (WCs) and Task Groups (TGs), focusing on architectural design and management (W096)
and creating inclusive built environments (TG125).

The discussions will investigate emerging trends in sustainable design, showcasing innovations in materials,
adaptive reuse, and performance-driven architecture. We will explore how inclusive design principles ensure
accessibility and equity, making built environments more resilient and adaptable to diverse user needs.
