Objectives and Scopes
The Commission aims:
- to research into the social, economic and legal aspects of contractual arrangements, appointment systems and tendering procedures used in relation to construction projects
- to establish and comment upon the practical aims and objectives of contractual arrangements and to define the participants and their responsibilities
- to review areas of commonality and differences
- to formulate recommendations and the selection and effective implementation of project procurement systems
- to compare and contrast standard conventions for the various systems of project procurement generally and specifically
- to report and liaise with relevant CIB Working Commissions and Task Groups
Current Work Programme
Within its Work Programme W092 aims:
- To organize regular meetings to enable experts to come together, in order to discuss ideas and developments with a view to helping establish more effective procurement strategies
- To encourage experts to present learned papers to their peers concerning construction procurement and to arrange, where appropriate, for their publication through the mechanism of CIB
- To produce bulletins reflecting and comparing current practice in the procurement of construction at both national and project level.
W092 has established a Task Group on:
- PPP – Public Private Partnership, with as Task Group Leader: Assic. Prof. Dr. Mohan Kumaraswamy, Hong Kong University
In addition W092 has the following ongoing projects:
- Collection of models related to procurement issues as input to the CIB Compendium on Performance Based Building Models

Membership
Members of this Working Commission have to be either a Representative of a CIB Member Organization or an Individual CIB Member.
