Objectives and Scopes
The Commission is a network platform in support of the development and strengthening of international and interdisciplinary cooperation as related to residential research in support of the development and presentation of new conceptual perspectives and appropriate theories and methodologies. The network is to include appropriate representatives of researchers, academics, policy makers and practitioners and is to bring together expertise from various relevant areas, including urban and residential sociology, architectural design, economics and business, facilities management, construction and environmental sustainability.
Current Work Programme
The proposed structured three-year engagement plan aims to ensure a balance between reconnecting with internal members and building consensus on a proposed Commission vision (year 1), increasing the group’s external visibility (year 2), and then consolidating and establishing impact (year 3). Each year builds on the previous one, aiming to ensure steady progress and sustainable growth. While the Guidelines For The Coordination Of CIB Working Commissions And Task Groups suggest the organisation of an international conference on a three-year cycle, we believe, given the need to work on reestablishing, growing and consolidating this Working Commission, to aim for such an achievement is premature in the three-year plan.
