In 2023-24 CIB celebrated its 70th ‘Platinum’ anniversary.
This is an important milestone in the organisation’s history, and to celebrate we’ve produced a commemorative review which looks back on 70 years of international cooperation. We also look forward, as CIB members help to build a more sustainable world.
CIB Celebrating 70 Years contains interesting and thought-provoking articles and interviews, exploring aspects of the CIB and its impact on the built environment over the last 70 years and into the future. It includes contributions from past and current members, and demonstrates the depth and breadth of CIB members and practices.
Speaking at the launch of CIB Celebrating 70 Years at the CIB Board meeting at Tsinghua University, China, CIB CEO Don Ward said

We pay tribute to all the people involved with CIB over 70 years who worked so hard to advance the quality of research in the architecture, engineering and construction sector and the impact it has in better processes and better built environment. It is significant that we mark this anniversary with a focus on how such research contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we are grateful to Prof Dongping Fang and his colleagues at Tsinghua University for enabling us to launch the brochure at a meeting of the CIB Board with leading Chinese universities and construction firms”.
