AI-Driven Innovation for Safe, Automated, and Decarbonised Built Environment – EU position

We are pleased to share a post-doctoral opportunity at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy, within the Unit “Built Environment” of the Directorate for Societal Resilience and Security.

We are seeking a motivated researcher with a background in civil and/or structural engineering combined with expertise in digital and AI-driven approaches in the built environment, or an AI engineer with vast experience in construction applications.

The position focuses on AI-driven and data-enabled solutions for the green and digital transformation of the construction ecosystem, including applications in machine learning, generative AI, robotics and automation, resilient and low-carbon construction, industrialised and off-site construction, and risk and resilience assessment of buildings and infrastructure. The successful candidate will contribute to research activities with strong policy relevance in support of sustainable and resilient built environments.
