Accelerating Innovation in Construction – Taha Elhag – 3 March

Dr Taha Elhag will be delivering the latest seminar in the CIB President’s seminar series on Friday 3rd March.

Abstract

There are over 60 definitions of innovation in the academic literature covering various themes and industries. R&D and innovation in the construction sector have been hindered by different factors such as:

fragmentation of the construction process;

adversarial relationships between stakeholders;

lack of integration of information;

poor communication flow; etc.

Many initiatives have been instigated in the UK and around the globe to influence change, innovation and improvement of the industry. In recent years, more emphasis is laid on influential clients to stimulate and lead construction innovation.

This seminar addresses the barriers and government driving policies for innovation in the UK construction industry.
