A Research Assistant Position has become available in the Department of Building and Real Estate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The funds for this post are available for a period of 12 months. The appointee will be joining a world-class research team and work closely with the Hong Kong Green Building Council.
A Research Assistant Position has become available in the Department of Building and Real Estate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The funds for this post are available for a period of 12 months. The appointee will be joining a world-class research team and work closely with the Hong Kong Green Building Council.
The Key responsibility is to assist the project leader in the research project – “Energy Efficiency Retrofitting of Existing Buildings for Carbon Neutrality in Hong Kong: Policy Recommendations and Guidelines for Overcoming the Challenges”. You will (a) perform research tasks as required for the project; (b) supervise, maintain and uphold the smooth running of the data collection and analysis; and (c) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader. The key skills, attributes, knowledge, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: (a) having obtained a master’s degree or above in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Possession of research experience in retrofitting will be an advantage; (b) having experience in conducting case studies, surveys and interviews; (c) having experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis; (d) being a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; (e) being highly motivated, committed and able to work independently and meet tight deadlines; (f) having excellent command of both written and spoken English. Ability to speak Cantonese will be an advantage; (g) having a high level of English technical writing proficiency; and (h) having a strong passion for research and scholarly activities. A strong publication record will be an advantage.
