CIB European Affordable Housing Symposium 2026: Delivering Housing at Scale through Industrialisation – 10–11 September 2026 at Nottingham Trent University London Campus.
This two-day international symposium, delivered in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, will bring together policymakers, local authorities, housing providers, industry and academia to explore how industrialised approaches can help address Europe’s affordable housing challenge and support housing delivery at scale.
Day 1 – Delivering Affordable Housing at Scale
The first day focuses on policy, governance, housing delivery systems and industrialisation, bringing together perspectives from across Europe to discuss affordable housing issues and practical solutions. Topics include:
- The affordable housing delivery challenge across Europe
- Place-based delivery, regeneration and inclusive growth
- Infrastructure-led housing delivery and industrialisation
- International case studies and lessons from Northern Europe
- Conditions required to move from pilot projects to scalable delivery
- Practical actions for policymakers, clients and industry
The day concludes with a networking reception.
Day 2 – CIB UK & Northern Europe Strategic Forum
The second day is an interactive workshop designed to identify shared challenges, exchange international experience and shape future research and collaboration priorities for housing delivery and industrialisation across Europe. Topics include:
- Key affordable housing delivery challenges across Northern Europe
- Governance, procurement, investment and infrastructure barriers
- Industrialisation, productivity and supply-chain capability
- Opportunities for policy, industry and academic collaboration
- Development of a shared European agenda for housing delivery and industrialisation
