Tampere University hosted the 139th meeting of the CIB Board in Finland in May.

- A package of actions to address late payment of subscription fees by some existing members, to the value of over 35% of invoiced income.

The Board also held productive consultative sessions with the Coordinators of Working Commissions and Task Groups, and received a presentation by the winner of the CIB Best Doctoral Dissertation 2025, Esraa Elmarakby of University of Salford, UK.
The General Assembly was also held on May 26th, this is reported separately.
During their stay in Finland Board members were also able to visit the Signe construction site in the city centre of Helsinki, which was awarded Finland’s Construction Site of the Year 2025. Particularly impressive was the digital management systems used including Takt, the lean scheduling and production system. They also had a meeting with local universities hosted by Janne Tahtikunnas of RIL (Finnish Association of Civil Engineers) to discuss current challenges and the value of CIB membership.
We are grateful to our hosts for facilitating all the above, and to those Board members who made the considerable effort at their organisations’ expense to attend the meeting.
