World Building Congress 2028

Beijing, 21–26 May 2028

CIB is delighted to announce that the 24th World Building Congress (WBC2028) will take place at Tsinghua University, Beijing, from 21–26 May 2028.

Held every three years, the World Building Congress is the flagship event in CIB’s global calendar — bringing together leading researchers, academics, industry partners and policymakers from across the built environment. WBC2028 will provide an international platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and forward-looking dialogue on the future of construction and the built environment.

We warmly invite all CIB members, Working Commissions, Task Groups and Student Chapters to save the date and plan to join us in Beijing for this landmark gathering of the global research community.

Congress Leadership

WBC2028 will be led by esteemed professors Dongping Fang, Hongling Guo, and Jiayu Chen from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University.

CIB has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tsinghua University to ensure the successful delivery of the Congress.

What to Expect

As the premier global forum for built environment research and innovation, WBC2028 will convene participants from across disciplines to address critical themes including sustainable construction, digital transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure systems and future-ready professional practice.
