CIB has appointed a number of its Board members to the role of Regional Director. Their purpose is to be a lead channel of communication for CIB at a regional level, in particular to:
- Provide a connection for existing CIB members in the region
- Raise the profile of CIB in the region;
- Support recruitment of new CIB members in the region;
- Connect with key stakeholders including potential third-party funders in the region.

Examples of activities organised by Regional Directors include:
- Online meetings for members in the region
- Regional webinars focused on regional context
- Participation in third-party events representing CIB
- Identifying organisations and individuals interested in joining CIB
- Organising a visit by the CIB President and/or CEO
- Stakeholder outreach to liaise with eg leading player/s in government and industry.
- Formalising a regional strategy.
