Implementation of SDGs in Smart Cities – 4th April

The 5th President’s seminar series will be panel discussions with invited experts in their field discussing a given topic. The latest panel discussion is titled ‘Implementation of SDGs in Smart Cities’ and will be held on Friday 4th April at 11:30 EST.

Smart cities are key enablers of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offering integrated solutions for sustainable urban development. This panel, featuring CIB’s leading research, explores how spatial planning and infrastructure development (W101) contribute to coordinate planning and change, thus creating efficient, and sustainable urban environments, and how smart technologies (W116) can be strategically applied to optimize resource use, improve quality of life, and support long-term sustainability goals.

Discussions will highlight the role of planning in guiding smart city development and the transformative potential of digital tools, data, and intelligent systems. Join us to uncover how thoughtful planning and technological innovation together can drive the successful implementation of SDGs in the urban context.
