About the Role
Would you like to be the next Editor-in-Chief of the journal Construction Management and Economics?
Due to the current Editor-in-Chief coming to the end of his tenure, Routledge Taylor and Francis is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief for Construction Management and Economics from 1 January 2023. Construction Management and Economics is an international peer-reviewed journal that focuses on making a fundamental contribution on management and/or economic aspects in the production of the built environment. In 2022, the journal is celebrating 40 years of publication.
Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief is the head of the Editorial Team responsible for:
• Framing journal editorial policy jointly with Routledge Taylor and Francis, working with the Editorial Team and Editorial Board on development plans, indexing strategy, etc.;
• Ensuring an adequate flow of material to meet the publication schedules;
• Working with the Editorial Team and Editorial Board to commission Special Issues;
• Assisting in the appointment of other members of the Editorial Team for the journal;
• Distributing promotional material for the journal at conferences;
• Managing the peer-review process and delivering decisions on the acceptance or rejection of articles submitted to the journal via an online submission system. In all cases the Editor-in-Chief’s decision on a paper will be final and will ensure that reviewers and authors adhere to the Journal’s Code of Publishing Ethics;
• Dealing with all authors appeals and inquiries regarding decisions;
• Chairing Editorial Board Meetings.
Candidate Qualifications
Applicants interested in taking on the role of Editor-in-Chief for Construction Management and Economics should be familiar with and known in the field and related networks. She or he is someone who ideally has experience in the peer-review and editorial process and is also organised and committed to deliver timely decisions in the peer-review process.

• Where the field is going and the journal’s place within it;
• How you would work with the editorial board;
• How you would maintain and increase quality of submissions;
